Starburst galaxies in deep images

I will report on a recent work done with the Hubble Space Telescope images in searching for starbursts galaxies at intermediate and high redshifts. I will show the analysis of the morphologies of these objects and compare them with Lyman Break Galaxies. These starbursts galaxies were not selected using the Lyman break technique and constitute an important link between the local universe and the Lyman Break Galaxies. Visual classification of their morphology show a large number of compact, peculiar, mergers and tadpoles.
