|Title:||On the the relationship between circumstellar disc size and X-ray outbursts in Be X-ray binaries|
|Date:||Thursday, 7 August 2014|
|Time:||11:40 - 12:00|
Long-term spectroscopic monitoring of Galactic Be Xray binaries (BeXBs) is performed using the Liverpool Telescope and the Southern African Large Telescope on northern and southern objects, respectively. The H-alpha emission line can be used as a trace of the state of the circumstellar disc around the Be star. Analysis of different properties of the H-alpha emission line will be presented to study circumstellar discsize variations and their influence on mass accretion resulting in X-ray activity.
