Lose important documents? Need to know how to work with collaborators around the world? Looking for different ways to track and monitor your projects? Revision software is a great resource for doing all these things and more. From simple back-ups to solutions with integrated social media features, I’ll provide an introduction to some of the different aspects of revision software and how it can improve your productivity in this short half-hour talk. These tools range from simple storage and sharing software such as dropbox or google drive to sites like github and bitbucket that provide integration of project management and version control software. Although I will introduce several different software solutions with a range of features, I’ll also provide a short tutorial after the talk on using git and github. If you are interested in participating in the tutorial, please bring along your laptop to the talk. If you are already an expert in these tools, please come along to share your tips and tricks!
