Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 18:09:04 -0600 From: Michael Dejohnette Dear MEMBERS: My "Snappy 4.0 Deluxe Internet" is now functionong fine on windows 2000 on an add-on parallel port card, thanks to the help of 5 members who reached out to help me. What worked finally was this: 1) uninstalled all port hardware and software. 2) changed bios assignment of port #1 (on the board) to ecp 3) enabled legacy pnp 4) installed port #1 WITH NO SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE USING IT OR ATTACHED TO IT! 5) reinstalled add on card as port #2 with a different irq and interrupt# with snappy installed on it 6) reinstalled all totally deleted software off disc and a new 9V in the unit. 7) snappy functioned instantly but would not save 8) downloaded ntsc 4.0 patch and installed it 9) made snappy recognized in registry as video capture device as per globalstreams direction 10)THEN I installed the printer, which works fine, on port #1, where it was originally. 11)snappy is working fine except I find it impossible to get the same picture color and vibrancy I see on the TV with the VCR in stop-frame mode. MANY THANKS TO YOU: (you know who you are)! Michael Dejohnette
