My first attempts with a ST5 CCDDuring one week, doing standby duties at our Sutherland Observatory outstation, I played a bit with a SBIG ST5 CCD camera. The only telescope I had to my disposal was a tiny 4½" without any drive. I soon reached the limit of what could be achieved with this setup and then made up a system to use standard 50mm & 28mm (film) camera lenses with the ST5. These lenses, together with the amazing light sensitivity of the CCD, was great fun to experiment with. Here are some of the results.
