The SAAO is looking to appoint a service provider to Construct a new building at the Sutherland Observatory to house a new infrared telescope called PRIME.

There will be no planned site visit.

The bid must be submitted before 11h00 on Monday, 27 March 2020.

Bids can be submitted electronically to bids@saao.ac.za or physically deposited into the tender box at the SAAO site in Observatory, Observatory Road, Cape Town, 7925

Edit (26 March 2020): The closing time will be extended until after the 16 April 2020 at a time yet to be determined. This is in line with current communications with instructions on the effect for the COVID19 lockdown. Please continue to monitor this page for further developments.

Edit (27 April 2020): With the official lockdown ending midnight 30 April 2020, the decision is to close the tender submissions at 11:00 on 8th May 2020. All bidders are still welcome to submit bids until this deadline. The tender box has remained closed and will only be open, anyone who has already submitted a bid and wishes to resubmit, please do so before 11:00 on 8 May 2020, ensuring your final bid is clearly marked as such.
